  The   subject of debatecontest-2 :  Democracy in the  world today-Does  it really exist in  the truest sense ?
  
      we all know the defination of Democracy given by Abraham Lincoln,'  The  government  by  the  people ,for the  people  and  of  the 
  
  people ..'   We have  learnt  about  many  forms  of  governments...We know  whts  facism type of  government ,we 
  
  know  how  communist  government  rules  and  we  also  know  the  rights  of  people under  government of 
  
  Monarchy... May be we got qoute  from Mr.Lincoln  but  Athens  was torch bearer to the way  to Democracy.......The  military made a change in the government by turning down the rule and rein was was given to the people of Athens to rule their own country.
  
     In my  debate  i  dont  want  to  create  any   type  of  cavoss.......We  know   the  position of  Russia  ,Pakistan and
  
  other  countries....The  people  who  have  left  their  motherland  for  better  future  !!  wont  say  any thing  and  I 
  
  dont  want   to create  any  confusion  for  them  in any  way....many  people  may  express  their  problems freely 
  
  and  here  is  my  first  point  in favour  of  DEMOCRACY......
  
     Yes  I firmly  believe    Democracy   truelly  exists  in the  world.....India  is  considered  to be  one of the  largest 
  
  democratical  country  in the  world...... At the  time  of election  a citizen  can  vote for his  candidate  and all  the
  
  measures  are  taken  so  that  one can Vote peacefully  and  safely....Crores  of  rupeess  are  spent  on holding
  
  elections..
  
      In   the democratical  constitution  the  focus  is  on   human rights... If   you go through  our  constitution  you can
  
  
  see  how  many  rights  one  person has been  given.....the  another  point is  freedom of  speech....many 
  
  countries  keeping  medias  under  fully  control....The  media  persons  are banned to  publish any thing  they 
  
  
  Like ... the   countries  which  are  not democratical  are  against  of  giving  freedom of  speech .... 
  
      If you  take  example  of  America......The  steps  taken  by  Mr.Bush (who belongs to  republican party ) in case
  
  
  of  Iraq  was  not   appreciated  by  Americans...Though  Mr.Bush   would  no t have  another chance  acccording
  
  
  to  the rules  of  party.( he had completed his two terms ) Its  touh fight between Obama and  Hillary - and  the
  
  
  fate  is in hands  of   People  of   America-So in my point of  view  the  people  are  supreme in  Democracy..The
  
  
  media  role  cant be denied  and  people  get  information  from media- But  here  also   People  (Voters )  are
  
  smart.....
  
         What   to  say  about  Pakistan and  Bangladesh? The  people  of  other  such  countries  should  think about
  
  
  their  future. Democracy  when excercised  properly, Its in benefit  of  people  themselves....We have  seen chaos
  
  in Iraq   Pakistan and  Shri Lanka  and many such countries..See  the  position in Middle east.....What  rights are enjoyed by  people !
  
      In the  case  of  England- 'Where the saying is prevailed-King can do no wrong ' the president  has to resign
  
  
  for supporting  America  in   case  of  Iraq.... other european countries  did  not  support   Mr.Blair......Even elections
  
  
  may   be  held  in  Pakistan......The  people  of Pakistan  have to re-think whether to go by sentiments or for their
  
  better    future.....! we have also experienced emergency 
  
  imposed in 1977..Never go by sentiments...! We have many 
  
  cases in the world where people suffered  under tyranny..
  
          The   might   is   right   theory   should  not  work  now.......The  people  should  come  out  of  regionalism....
  
  
  The  younger generation  move  globally  for  career  and  education.......China  has to  re-think  again  about its
  
  
  steps about  Tibet.....
  
        The people   of  media  have  to control  its  concept  and realise  its  social  resposibilty......Democracy  gives  all
  
  
  rights  to express  the  real  voice  of  people......People  are aware  and    they  dont tolerate   papa-razi   activities..
  
  
  One can not  make fool  all the  people  all the  times...Abraham Lincoln  said...
  
            In my opinion  Democracy is best  form of  government....The  people  have  their  so many  rights....But 
  
  
  people  lose  hope  but  I request  people  to know their  rights  and  duties.....An   important weapon is RIght  To
  
  
  Information......you have  all right  to inquire about any information of any department of state and central  level...
  
  
  democracy  is given to you  and  you can talk about any body even The president of your country  standing  at 
  
  
  common place   like   Nukkad  or  chai ki dukan.....!! For overall development of individual...only and only  Democracy is the  answer....According  to me....
  
  
                 The people have to  be alert  while  voting....select  lesser  evil.....But   dont  forget  to  vote-Its  your
   
   
  weapon.....Its  ballot  verses bullet... As we say the  Pen   is  mighter  than  sword.. never forget your  right to vote
  
  
  democracy   servives  with  alert  people (Voters )..Even   one  vote   collapses  Government.
  
  
              Every  country at some level  experienced  slavery  at some time....We  Indians did have...Right..? Never
  
  
  again......!  People   you  are  supremo  in   Democracy !  And  we  should  not lose  hope  and looking  at  our next
  
  
  generation.....We   should   act  with  strength  and  pride...!  And  know   your  rights   and  duties..!  In many
  
   
  elections - I heard  people talking  what will be  any difference  if  I dont  vote..!  It makes  lots  of difference....! 
  
          In conclusion  I can really  say  out of   Fascism , Monarchy , Communist  , Democracy  and  Military Rule only
  
  Democracy  is  need  of  todays time....Many will agree  with me that Democracy may have some black side but
  
  for  overall   development  of  an individual only  Democracy  still  rules  over...Where  one can breathe as human
  
  being.....! And I request big nations  keep control on their
   
  greed for power in benefit of the world peace. They should
   
  stop interfering in the matter of under developed or
   
  developing countries  and extend their best possible
   
  helping hand to develop in their own ways and help them to
   
  maintain their own traditions, customs ,culture and 
  
  heritage..! Jesus  socrates lost  their lives for telling  truth!
  
  We  are  also  bear resonsibilty  of  corruption and other 
  
  evils  prevailing in the  government...Illeteracy
   
  resposnsibility towards regionalism ,nation ,sepatare laws
   
  for different comunities  are  some of obstacles in getting
   
  real  Democracy.....I dont want to save myself saying 
  
  corruption every where in all forms  of  government  ....I am
   
  myself against of any kind of corruption at any  level....We 
  
   find  good people  stop  coming into active  politics.....its
  
    wrong......At least  you  can  make  little  difference  though
  
     one  can  not  make  big difference  but  why  not  start ..?
